Hair transplantation with
the FUE CT method
Since its development and trademark registration in 2015 and 2016, the FUE CT method has been refined over more than ten years on the basis of practical experience, medical insight, treatment analysis and corrective procedures.
This allows a personalised treatment plan to be drawn up for each client, tailored to donor capacity, hair type, skin condition, degree of hair loss and the expected progression of hair loss.

Application of the method
One method for initial treatments
complex corrections
The FUE CT method is used both for first-time hair transplants and for corrective treatments following previous hair transplants that were unsuccessful or produced limited results. Although conventional hair transplants can produce good results in suitable cases, a previous treatment may in some instances have led to insufficient density, an unnatural distribution, visible irregularities or a result that fell short of personal expectations.
The aim of the FUE CT method is a medically sound treatment that carefully balances natural hair growth, visual density, hairline restoration and preservation of the donor area.
Proprietary method – trade mark registered
FUE CT is a registered trademark
The FUE CT method was developed within the Amsterdam Hair Institute and is registered as a trademark within the European Union. The registration was applied for on 17 September 2015 and officially registered on 17 February 2016 under registration number 014569271. This registration relates to treatments and methods within hair transplantation and confirms the development and application of this treatment methodology within our clinic.
Since registration, the method has been developed further in clinical practice, with a strong focus on personalised treatment protocols, donor preservation and the improvement of both aesthetic and medical outcomes. Since the clinic was founded in 2006, more than 20,000 hair transplants have been performed at Amsterdam Hair Institute, of which more than 10,000 using the FUE CT method.

Extraction protocol
Scientifically based extraction principles
Our proprietary FUE CT extraction protocol involves the controlled selection and distribution of grafts for every treatment. Based on more than ten years of practical experience with the CT extraction protocol, the aim is for more than 70% of harvested grafts to be multi-hair grafts.
The extraction technique focuses on preserving the natural structure surrounding each graft, so that the relevant supporting cells and tissue structures are transferred together wherever possible.
The achievable percentage depends on each client's donor capacity, hair quality, skin condition and medical assessment. Multi-hair grafts contain several hairs per follicular unit and can contribute to greater visual density and more efficient use of the available donor area.
Scientifically based extraction principles
By carefully selecting and distributing grafts, the donor area is used as responsibly as possible. This takes into account the natural skin structure, the skin's capacity to recover and the preservation of donor capacity for the future.
The method is designed to support graft quality, graft survival and healthy hair structure. Depending on individual hair characteristics such as thickness and texture, this can contribute to better visual coverage in the final result.
Indications
FUE CT suitable for?
Is FUE suitable?
Within the FUE CT method, we look at the complete picture, not just age.
- Clients who want high density and a natural hairline in a single treatment, without multiple sessions.
- Clients who want a large number of grafts implanted safely in a single session, with optimal use of the donor area and a well-supported recovery.
- Clients who have had a less successful hair transplant elsewhere and are seeking a corrective treatment.
- Clients with large treatment areas, where the largest possible surface area needs to be treated in a single session.
- Younger clients still in an active phase of hereditary hair loss, for whom a future-oriented treatment strategy is essential.
- Clients who value safety, tissue recovery and long-lasting results, supported by both aesthetic and medical considerations.
Unique extraction of CT multigrafts
An evidence-informed extraction protocol focused on graft quality and donor preservation
During extraction (the harvesting of hair follicles), a specific technique is used to obtain as many CT multi-grafts as possible.
This preserves the essential structures of the hair follicle as far as possible, including the dermal papilla, the matrix and the surrounding sheaths and stem cell structures.
This contributes to higher survival per graft, preserved hair thickness and vitality, and better, faster healing of the donor area.
In some cases, this technique makes it possible to achieve two to two and a half times more coverage in a single treatment than with conventional techniques. This is due to the higher number of hairs per graft and to extraction methods that support the development of thicker hairs, allowing a significantly higher visual density to be achieved.
This answers a question we are often asked: why the FUE CT method allows a large number of grafts to be implanted in a single session while the donor area recovers well, something that is often restricted or advised against with other techniques. Some clients do require two treatments. Where the treatment area is large, donor capacity is carefully preserved during the first procedure and the right balance is sought to allow for a second session.
FROM OUR FOUNDER
"With the FUE CT technique, based on scientific principles, we preserve the growth zone and essential cells during extraction, with the aim of supporting high graft survival, healthy hair growth and better skin recovery."

Personal treatment strategy
Multiple factors play a role in every hair transplant. These include the number of grafts that can safely be implanted per session, the ratio of single to multi-hair grafts, the donor area's capacity to recover, the scalp's blood supply, and the strain placed on skin and grafts during the procedure.
Within the FUE CT method, tailored protocols are adapted to each client's personal situation. We look at:
- 01Skin condition
- 02Hair type
- 03Donor capacity
- 04Scalp blood circulation
- 05Previous hair transplants or treatments
- 06Patterns of hair loss
- 07Quality, structure, and distribution of grafts
On the basis of this medical and aesthetic assessment, a treatment plan is drawn up. The donor area is used as efficiently and carefully as possible, with the aim of a natural, balanced and lasting result.
The strenght of the FUE CT METHOD
Strategic graft distribution and natural density
A key element of the FUE CT method is the strategic distribution of grafts. Not every graft performs the same function within a hair transplant. Single grafts are essential for a soft, natural hairline, while double, triple and multi-hair grafts contribute volume and visual density in the zones behind it.
By carefully selecting and strategically placing these grafts, a natural transition is created between the hairline, frontal zone, mid-scalp and crown. This involves not only the number of grafts, but also their direction, angle, distribution and the hair's natural growth patterns.
In addition, the FUE CT method aims to preserve the natural structure around each graft as far as possible, including the supporting tissue surrounding the follicles. This is intended to support recovery and the condition of the grafts during and after treatment.
Preservation of the donor area
Responsible use of the donor area is essential in every hair transplant. The donor area has a limited capacity and must be carefully assessed to prevent overharvesting. The FUE CT method therefore works with controlled donor management.
This means that we consider not only the desired number of grafts, but also the long-term condition of the donor area. By distributing grafts carefully and using the donor area strategically, the aim is to maintain a natural appearance in both the treated area and the donor area.

Over 19 years of expertise, translated into exceptional quality
Difference between FUE, DHI, sapphire techniques and the FUE CT method
Within hair transplantation there are several techniques, including conventional FUE, DHI and Sapphire FUE.
Each technique has its own characteristics, applications and points of attention. The most suitable method always depends on the client's individual situation, the quality of the donor area, hair type, skin condition and the desired result.
The FUE CT method was developed as a refined hair transplantation method that combines clinical experience, corrective procedures and insights from existing techniques with additional treatment protocols. The aim is an optimal balance between natural density, preservation of the donor area, a natural appearance and a stable long-term result.
The method is founded on years of practical experience, analysis of treatment results and the continued development of implantation strategies. On this basis, specific protocols and methods have been developed for a controlled, personal approach.

More than just getting your hair back
What we regularly notice at final result check-ups is that for many clients, a hair transplant means more than just more hair. Three clients share what their FUE CT treatment has changed for them.

What our clients say
“A positive experience with Amsterdam Hair Institute. I had previously been to another clinic with a disappointing result. Amsterdam Hair Institute performed a revision surgery on me two years ago with the desired outcome. I'm also very pleased with the aftercare treatments provided by Amsterdam Hair Institute. Thank you from Limburg.”

“I had a hair transplant at Amsterdam Hair Institute in 2024. After the initial consultation and first contact, I immediately felt confident and good about it. During the actual procedure, I felt incredibly at ease, even though I found it quite nerve-wracking. During the aftercare process, I was closely monitored and always able to get answers to my questions. The end result is fantastic, which I am incredibly proud of, and I recommend it to anyone considering it. In any case, I am extremely happy with it and have already received many positive comments. Due to their consistently excellent customer service, pleasant and high-quality treatment, and remarkable end result, I gladly give Amsterdam Hair Institute 5 stars!!!”

“The very best clinic in the Netherlands. Don't come for the lowest price, but for the best result. I thought a treatment wouldn't make a difference for me anymore, as I was already quite bald, but now, 3 months later, I already have a hairline and hair again. That will only increase further. The treatments and aftercare service also contribute significantly to the result. I would recommend this clinic and this team to anyone.”

What is the FUE CT method?
FUE CT is a personalised hair transplantation method developed in 2015 in response to the need for greater control, higher visual density, better donor preservation and more predictable results in complex hair transplants.
In 2016, the method was officially registered as a trademark under registration number 014569271 and has since been refined further within Amsterdam Hair Institute.
How much does an FUE CT hair transplant cost?
The cost of FUE CT hair transplantation typically ranges between €7,000 and €14,000. The exact price depends on the number of grafts, hair type, donor capacity, treatment area, and the personalised FUE CT protocol required.Revision surgeries, frizzy hair, hairline corrections, or complex treatments often necessitate a different technical approach. Following a personal assessment, you will always receive a clear treatment indication and price quote.
Is the FUE CT treatment painful?
The FUE CT treatment is performed under local anaesthetic. Amsterdam Hair Institute works with a meticulous anaesthetic protocol.
The anaesthetic itself can be stingy for a short while, but once it's working properly, most clients find the treatment to be virtually painless and well-tolerated.
What does the aftercare look like following an FUE CT hair transplant?
The aftercare following an FUE CT hair transplant consists of a thorough follow-up process until the final result is achieved. You will have a total of 7 check-ups, comprising 4 physical appointments at the clinic and 3 online consultations.
In addition, 3 proprietary CTS treatments are applied, in combination with PRP treatment. This aftercare is aimed at supporting scalp condition, microcirculation, recovery, donor site condition, and the development of the transplanted hairs.
Is an FUE CT hair transplant safe?
An FUE CT hair transplant is performed according to a personalised and medically responsible treatment protocol. Prior.
Pharmaceutical hair growth products and 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors are not part of our standard protocol. Instead we work with our own naturally based aftercare treatments, aimed at supporting scalp condition and recovery.
Can FUE CT help with a failed hair transplant or hairline correction?
Yes, the FUE CT method can be suitable for clients seeking a solution after a failed or less successful hair transplant. Amsterdam Hair Institute works with specific FUE CT restoration surgery protocols. When a sufficient amount of viable donor hair is still present, the probability of visible improvement can be greater.
Through personalised graft distribution, responsible donor management, and experience with complex corrective treatments, FUE CT can offer more possibilities than a standard approach in suitable situations. The aim is a more natural, calmer, and balanced result.
